The New Look launches an endurance bike - 765 Optimum designed to maximise comfort and efficiency
    December 12, 2022

The Look launched an endurance road bike -765 Optimum using an "ultra-high strength carbon compound" and new "endurance-optimised geometry". new bike has 34mm tyres clearance, a threaded bottom bracket shell and mudguard mounts.Look claims the new bike will damp vibrations more effectively than before and will maximise comfort and efficiency. Look says the new 765 Optimum is lightweight with frame and fork weights from 1400g. This bike has been "fully redesigned from the ground up", offering a less aggressive rider fit than previous models. They claim this will make it more comfortable on longer rides and rougher roads, and suitable for year-round use. This re-designed French bike uses a new design which combines several carbon fibres and weaves using Look's 3D Wave technology. Look claims this "ultra-high strength carbon compound and endurance-specific carbon layup" will damp vibrations more efficiently than previous materials, offering a compromise between rigidity and flexibility. Endurance-specific frame 1,‘3D wave’ carbon The new 765 Optimum frameset uses Look’s ‘3D wave’ carbon tubes which they claim are 20% more compliant than those of the previous model. 2,Trek Madone SL.T47 bottom brackets This bike also features a threaded T47 bottom bracket which we saw as an update in this year's Trek Madone SL.T47 bottom brackets allow bike manufacturers to make a wide bottom bracket shell providing plenty of stiffness and are said to allow easy integration through the bottom bracket area for hoses. LOOK says, "the T47 bottom bracket ensures a light, reliable, and ultra- efficient power transfer system." The frameset is also said to be constructed from an “endurance-specific” carbon layup. This is, once again, claimed to dampen vibrations, improving comfort. 3, 34mm tyres clearance and recessed mudguard mounts The new Optimum 765 has clearance for tyres up to 34mm wide and also features recessed mudguard mounts. The bike is only compatible with Look’s own mudguards, which will be available in early 2023. Cables and hoses are internally-routed, passing through a channel on the underside of the stem and handlebars before routing through the upper headset bearing. The bike uses a threaded T47 bottom bracket shell. 4, integrated cable routing system There is an integrated cable routing system where the cables enter the frame below the handlebar. The stem and bars can be removed without disconnecting the hydraulic brake hoses. 5,Five complete bike builds The 756 Optimum is available in five different sizes from x-small to x-large, with five complete bike builds including both mechanical and electronic shifting

  • 2023 Vitus Mythique New Review
    2023 Vitus Mythique New Review
    December 07, 2022

This Vitus Mythique was a bike with good performance and an achievable price. Now, the brand published 2023 new catalogue which is made up of four bikes, the VR, VRS, VRX and AMP, each getting the option of 650b or 29in wheels. The entry-level VR has 130mm of front and rear travel, while the VRS, VRX and AMP feature 140mm. Both 29in and 27.5in wheel-size options are available on all models, except the AMP, which is only available with 29in mountain bike wheels. The brand gives the budget friendly trail bike and full overhaul, gifting it an all-new frame design, a more aggressive geometry, and tweaks to its suspension frames kinematic amongst much more.Vitus claims the Mythique is no longer a “get you started bike”, and says it is now a bike with broader appeal to cater for more experienced riders. Geometry updates The new Mythique sees lots of updates over the previous model, with cleaner lines matched with modern geometry. The head tube is half a degree slacker in a bid to up the control when things get steeper and more technical. This means the 130mm travel version of the bike will now have a head angle of 66 degrees compared to 66.5 degrees on the previous model. The same is true for the 140mm bike, with the head tube angle now at 65.5 degrees compared to the previous 66 degrees.Vitus says this provides more control while descending, boosting confidence on steeper and more technical terrain. The effective seat tube angle is now steeper than the previous model with a 1-degree increase on the 130mm bike, from 76.7 degrees to 77.7 degrees. The 140mm bike now sits at 77.3 degrees, up from 76.1 degrees. Vitus says this balances the increase in the head angle, and positions you further over the bottom bracket for more efficient climbing. Horst-link suspension system The Mythique uses a Horst-link suspension system that remains active under braking and is supportive from the midstroke to the end of its travel. Vitus claims the updated system has an anti-rise figure that is around 5 per cent higher than the previous platform, resulting in a more balanced and less pitchy ride. The new bike now uses a 185mm x 55mm trunnion-mount shock, which Vitus says has increased the leverage ratio, although progression remains at 22 per cent. Frames updated Vitus said the new Mythique's alloy frame full dropper post insertion, so all riders can maximise the amount of drop travel they can get. Elsewhere, there's a threaded bottom bracket, externally routed cables, a Boost 148 rear axle, and 44mm upper and 56mm lower headset bearings, both of which are pretty common.

    December 07, 2022

Davide Rebellin has passed away at the age of 51. The Italian cyclist, who officially ended his long career this year, was killed instantly when he was hit by a truck driver while riding his bike in Montebello Vicentino on DEC 30. Rebellin was a world champion in 1989 as a junior in the team time trial. In 1991 he was silver medallist in the world amateur road race championships. Since 1992 he’s won some 80 professional races including Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Flèche-Wallonne, Amstel, Zurich, San Sebastian, Henninger Turm, Tirreno-Adriatico, Paris-Nice and the Tour of the Mediterranean to name but the best known. After the Olympics, Rebelling officially became a professional road cyclist and made his professional debut at the Camaiore Grand Prix. At the 1996 Tour de Italy, Rebellin won a stage and wore a pink shirt for six days, finishing sixth overall, which made him famous. In addition, Rebellin has won the SAN Sebastian Classic, the Zurich Grand Prix and three major classical races, the Amstel Golden Race, the Arrow of Wallon and the Liege. Dominating the 2004 season as one of the best one-day Classics riders, Rebellin won the Amstel Gold Race, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. However following a positive test for CERA at the 2008 Olympic Games, his silver medal in the men’s road race was revoked by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and he served a two-year suspension from 2009 to 2011, dropping down to the Pro-Continental level upon his return.

The Tour de France Will Likely Skip the Paris Finale in 2024.
    December 05, 2022

According to Italian newspaper ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ the Tour is swapping Paris for the French Riviera due to the race’s overlap with another major sporting event. For the first time in race history, the Tour de France will not conclude in Paris in 2024. That’s according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which reports that Nice will be the host of the final stage in two years. Why? With the Olympic Games set for Paris from late July into mid-August, officials do not want the logistical and security issues overlapping between the Games and the Tour. The final stage of the Tour has always been in Paris (or in nearby suburbs), and since 1975 the final stage has ended on the Champs-Élysées.

  • BMC Launched Roadmachine 01 AMP X--An Endurance Electric Road Bike
BMC Launched Roadmachine 01 AMP X--An Endurance Electric Road Bike
    November 29, 2022

BMC has announced the Roadmachine 01 AMP X, its first electric bike to tread the line between road and gravel. The Roadmachine 01 AMP X is a gravel-adjacent electric bike, designed for endurance riders but also capable of taking to off-road surfaces. The brand says the Roadmachine 01 AMP X weight only take 12.9kgs because it used the TQ-HPR50 motor system claimed 3.9kgs. Meanwhile, the Roadmachine AMP X offers wider tyre clearance and more endurance-focused geometry than the existing BMC Roadmachine AMP. BMC Roadmachine 01 AMP X Frames and Gemetry The Roadmachine 01 AMP X frame is made of BMC’s top grade 01 carbon fibre and includes full cable integration. The frame geometry has a higher stack, shorter reach and slacker head tube than BMC’s road bikes to cater for the bike’s off-road mandate and to ensure stable handling. The taller stack height raises the front end of the bike for a more upright riding position, while shorter chainstays 420mm make the bike stiffer and more manoeuvrable, according to the brand. TQ-HPR50 mid-drive motor The BMC Roadmachine 01 AMP X is powered by the TQ HPR50 drive unit.TQ claims the mid-drive electric bike motor is the lightest in its class at 3.9kg. It offers a 360Wh battery, and maximum power and torque figures of 300W and 50Nm respectively, putting it in the mid-assist range that’s typical for electric motors on drop bar bikes. It’s claimed to provide assistance without the kick in and out that some motor systems have and to be significantly quieter than most e-bike motors thanks to TQ’s patented harmonic pin ring, which provides single stage speed reduction, rather than the multi-stage gearing more normal in electric bike motors. The design also results in around 50 percent of the gear teeth being engaged at one time, so that there’s a larger area transmitting the torque from the motor than with conventionally geared systems, potentially cutting down on wear. In accordance with electric bike laws, the motor offers assistance up to 45km/h in the US and 25km/h elsewhere. More details you review at BMC website.

Mathieu van der Poel won on season debut at World Cup Hulst
    November 28, 2022

Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) was back to his usual barnstorming self with an aggressive victory at World Cup Hulst. The four-time world champion distanced Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) in the middle of the mucky, technical race and rampaged away to dominate his season debut and win his first ‘cross in 11 months. Victory on Sunday was Van der Poel’s first since he powered into the rainbow jersey in the Oostende world championships last January. It was also his fifth win on the Hulst circuit. “It feels pretty good, it’s been a long while since I won a cyclocross race,” he said afterward. “Last year wasn’t a good season. I wouldn’t even call it a season because it was one and a half races due to the back issues.” Van der Poel said he will iron out the kinks in his ‘cross technique in the coming races as he heads toward a showdown with Wout van Aert, and possibly Pidcock, at the ‘cross worlds in February.

  • 2023 Orbea Wild M-LTD eMTB Improved
2023 Orbea Wild M-LTD eMTB Improved
    November 23, 2022

The new 2023 Orbea Wild puts more emphasis on performance than ever before, and by switching from a removable battery design to an all-in-built one-piece structure, claim that the new frames stiffness is improved by 52%, while the frame weight is reduced by about 900g. The frame geometry was also adjusted to be longer, lower, and taller. For the drive unit, Orbea uses Bosch’s Performance CX Race motor, which is around 140g lighter than the non-race version. In its Race Assistance mode, which replaces Turbo, software updates mean it delivers 400 per cent assistance rather than the 340 per cent of the Performance CX model. The main change in the new Orbea Wild is the built-in battery design, which means the tube is more visually integrated. The built-in battery means that removing the battery first requires removing the motor with an Allen wrench, but the advantage of this approach is that compared to the old model, the Orbea increases frame stiffness while saving about 900 grams. In fact, the bare-carbon frame (without shock absorbers, motors, batteries or wiring) is said to weigh just 2,675g - just 70g more than the equivalent Rallon Enduro bike. This helps Orbea achieve a claimed vehicle weight of less than 21 kilograms (46.3 pounds), which is very impressive for a full-power electric bike. The Wild M-LTD comes with a smaller, thus lighter, 625Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, though tested the bike with both a 625Wh and a 750Wh battery. All Wild frames are compatible with both. The first significant change is Orbea now uses an integrated, non-removable battery. This is intended to improve frame stiffness. As a result, the new bike has a 50 per cent stiffer front triangle than the previous Orbea Wild. More frame details include Orbea’s SIC (Sealed Internal Cables) system that threads the rear brake, dropper post and gear cable through rubber plugs in the headset cap, which then runs internally through the frame. This was done to give the cockpit a neat look and reduce noise from cable rattling. There have also been tweaks to the geometry, primarily to improve speed and stability. The 448mm rear forks are 7mm shorter, with 25mm more reach (size M), 1.5° slack at the head angle, and 1.5° steeper seat tube. This adds up to a 44 mm increase in the wheelbase. The bottom bracket is 5mm taller for extra pedal clearance, and the head tube is 20mm longer for a taller front end, which, along with the shorter rear end, should make it easier to place the front wheel higher. The longer, slacker, taller front end should make it feel more stable at speed.

Wahoo responds to Zipp warranty threat: There Is No problem on Kickr Rollr structural Under ExtremeTesting
    November 16, 2022

Wahoo launched the Kickr Rollr at the beginning of the year, an innovative design that fits almost all bikes without removing the front or rear wheels, eliminating compatibility issues. The Kickr Rollr has a T-shaped tubular design with a roller device at the back and a wheel support at the front. The front wheel is clamped to an A-frame while the rear is free to skim over the surface of the roller. The front wheel support frame acts as the sole fixed point for the bicycle support, transferring the force of the support to the front wheel instead of the back fork or front fork. However, concerns were raised about the effect of the clamping forces on the front wheel, with Zipp publishing a statement confirming that ”Zipp wheels are not intended to be used on trainers that attach to the front rim or tire of the bike while the rear of the bike remains unsecured." In response, Wahoo said Kickr Rollr was subjected to rigorous testing by third-party test agent. The Wahoo explains : “ACT Lab, an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory, was appointed for the testing. ACT Lab conducts consumer product safety and compliance testing with a specialty in testing bikes and accessories, helmets, e-mobility products, and other sporting goods. “The innovative Kickr Rollr went through vigorous fatigue tests to simulate the highest degree of reasonable use. The testing measured the impact on the front wheel of a bike with a Ridley Noah Fast frame, Shimano Ultegra Di2 Disc groupset, Zipp 454 NSW front wheel, and Vittoria Rubino tire mounted on and using the Rollr with modified racing loads on the handlebars and crank/bottom bracket. The test concluded that there was no structural or cosmetic impact to the frame, wheels or tires resulting from the Kickr Rollr use even under these extreme test conditions Wahoo concluded, "Our tests at ACT LABS have shown no problems using the Kickr Rollr table, and Wahoo is committed to improving the product through scientific testing."

E Cargo Bikes Will See a Boom Growth In Bike Industry
    November 14, 2022

With traditional costs in the hands of consumers, rising taxi and fuel costs, and lingering urban congestion problems, there is a growing demand for electric cargo bikes. The implementation of automated technology, removable and rechargeable battery packs, has given manufacturers the opportunity to produce more portable and slimmer mobile vehicles. In 2022, three-wheeled cargo bikes will account for more than 22% of the overall cargo bike market sales. These tricycles have a wide range of applications, from recreational use, to urban logistics, when dropping small or medium-sized couriers, and even more everyday tasks such as garbage collection and disposal. Therefore, three-wheeled cargo bikes win more and more manufacturer investment and they will be used for even further applications moving forwards such as in the use of the transportation of raw materials and equipment over short distances. In the food delivery segment of the cargo bike market, its share is expected to grow by around 8.9% between 2023 and 2032. Restaurants and suppliers have been using online delivery services. Of course, using a safe cargo bike can bypass urban traffic and use less space to avoid congestion easier, faster and more legally than motorcycles and scooters. The need for sustainable transportation will drive businesses and express riders to replace their old modes of transportation with e-cargo bikes. In countries such as Mexico and Brazil, bicycle rental services help many tourists get around. Now the increase in cargo bikes will increase the demand for manufacturers in the Latin American region. Additionally, in Argentina, a $33 million investment has boosted the formation and construction of local cycling infrastructure – bike paths, shelters, viewing platforms and campsites – with the aim of boosting tourism.

Sonny Colbrelli Announces Retirement From Professional Cycling
    November 10, 2022

On Oct. 30, Italian road cyclist Sonny Colbrelli announced his retirement due to heart problems. Nicknamed "Scary Raleigh", the 32-year-old Corbrayli is a professional road cyclist. He is good at sprint and classical races. He won the 2021 Paris Roubaix, the first of the five classical races, and the 2021 Euro Championships. It's fair to say that in 2021, Corbrelli is just entering the peak of his career. The bad news came in the first half of 2022. On March 21, 2022 this year, when Corbrelli was with the team in the Spanish Tour of Catalonia, he fell to the ground immediately after crossing the line and was sent to the hospital; it was confirmed by the team afterwards that, It turned out that Colbrelli had an unstable heart arrhythmia. On the advice of his doctor, Corbrelli was fitted with a subcutaneous defibrillator to deal with the arrhythmia. Although UCI International has no regulations on subcutaneous defibrillators, Italian law prohibits people with defibrillators from participating in professional-level sports and can only play non-professional-level recreational sports - this is tantamount to Corbrelli's suspension was announced. Cole Breley has announced his official retirement decision through his Bahrain-Victory team. Colebrelli said in his retirement statement that he regretted being forced to retire without winning the next Tour of Flanders or a single Grand Tour. “I say goodbye to cycling and try to do it with a smile for the good it gave me, even if it hurts to say goodbye after a season like last year. That was the best of my career.”  “New challenges await me, and with courage, I prepare to face them with a smile on my face. Continue to rejoice in every ride I will do, even if only for fun and no longer for competition,”  “A year ago in this period, I spent my days celebrating the most important victory of my career, Paris-Roubaix. I never thought I would find myself a year later to face one of the most challenging moments that life has put me in front of,” “But it’s my life that I want to be grateful for, a life I risked losing and which gave me a second chance. That of being here today, to remember that I came out of the Hell of the North as a winner, and I did it in a legendary way, which will remain in history and that I will be able to continue to tell my children. It is to them, my family and all the people closest to me that I owe this new life of mine. “From them, I am drawing the strength to accept this moment of my sporting career that sees me here today to give up being able to add to my palmarés a victory in a Grand Tour or [the Tour of] Flanders, a lifelong dream.” “I learned what life offers and what life takes. But it also gives back in a different form. I’m ready to keep trying to be a champion, like on the bike.” Colbrelli said in a team statement, released on Sunday.
