Sales of traditional bicycles in Switzerland in 2023 totaled 222,549 units, a year-on-year decrease of 16%. Total sales of electric bicycles totaled 172,487 units, a year-on-year decrease of 21.1%; however, S-Pedelec showed growth against the trend, with sales increasing by 16.6% year-on-year to a total of 26,559 units.

From 2005 to 2023, a total of 5,310,350 Swiss bicycles were delivered locally, and a total of 1,520,391 eBikes were delivered.

Like other European countries, Swiss eBike has become a mainstay in the two-wheeled vehicle market. In 2023, Swiss eBike sales accounted for 43.7% of the annual two-wheeled vehicle sales, of which eBike sales with a speed limit of 25km/h accounted for 36.9%, and S-Pedelec sales with a speed limit of 45km/h accounted for 6.7%.

The Swiss Bicycle Industry Association stated that although eBike sales exceeded historical records in 2022, due to inflation, full warehouses, and consumer demand significantly cooling in 2023, the two-wheeled market slowdown in 2023 is expected by the market. , but the transaction value of the bicycle industry is still higher than the market demand value of bicycles and electric bicycles before the new crown epidemic in 2019.
