Orbea launches ultra-light the Carbon Road & Gravel electric bike Gain X20

February 13, 2023

updated ultra light weight carbon Road & Gravel Ebike

Not long ago, Orbea launched an ultra-light version of the electric power-assisted Mahle X20. In order to meet more market demands, an upgraded version of Gain X20 has been launched recently. As an electric power-assisted gravel, it is shown in front of everyone, and it is made lighter and has improved power. The weight is only 11.5kg.

As a brand that has been using hub motors for a long time, it also brought us the latest motor in the new car, which has increased the peak torque by about 30% compared with the previous generation. The 250w motor can output a peak torque of 55nm and has a built-in 350wh battery. The geometry of the vehicle has also been changed, the geometry has become more balanced, the wheelbase has been slightly shortened, the bottom bracket has been raised slightly by 2mm and a special electric power-assisted front fork has been used to obtain a more balanced riding experience, and a 60 lumen is integrated in the seat tube clamp and computer bracket The headlights are convenient for commuting, and the top price is 10,000 euros.

The upgrades to the 2023 Orbea Gain carbon X20 road & gravel ebikes are almost all imperceptible from the outside compared to the 2021 model. The fully-integrated & sleek premium OMR road & gravel ebikes carbon frameset is virtually unchanged – all except a new motor power button with an improved LED power display that’s built into the top tube. But the real upgrades are inside the newer X20 rear hub and the batteries

The updated 2023 Orbea Gain X20 also gets tweaked geometry, with a more balanced Stack & Reach combo, shorter wheelbases, 5mm shorter 415mm chainstays, 2mm extra bottom bracket drop, and new all-road e-bike specific fork Trail. Plus, Orbea adds a new sixth frame size, stretching out from XS-XXL now.

The carbon Orbea Gain itself is for the most part, otherwise unchanged. It has a road-going focus and endurance road geometry, plus clearance for up to 700 x 40mm tires – bleeding it over through all-road and into light gravel riding, as well. Although, the biggest that Orbea actually specs are 35mm tires, suggesting there isn’t a ton of extra space.
